ᐝWelcome to good enough.

good enough. is a newsletter that is dedicated to the exploration of practice, discovery, attempt, observation, and connection. Subscribing to good enough. means that you are also interested in what it means to be human; to be an observer, a maker, a doer, a joiner, an explorer. Each Sunday morning a small bite of alej’s observed world will land in your inbox. Together, with your observation and interaction, we’ll create greater meaning of the world. Our world.

ᐝWhy subscribe?

Anytime we subscribe to newsletters, our inboxes become richer places. It is also a great way to create portals between worlds. When you subscribe to good enough. you’re creating connections. Not just between you and me, but ones we have yet to see. I do my best to be mindful of your inbox space and only send what I think is best to send at any given time.

ᐝShare in learning

As we engage with the material world, we might find ourselves ever more connected to the spiritual world. As of January 2025, the time of this update, I am working to establish a creative practice that I hope to share on this platform with all of you. What I am learning through books, imagery, music, and the relational will all come through here in the writing. It is my hope that in highlighting my observations, you might learn something new about the world and/or about yourself.

Share good enough.

ᐝWhat to expect

Subscribers can expect a blend of content and materials, with specific focus at this time (01/2025) on refocusing and developing a creative practice. Newsletters go out Sunday mornings at the quietest hour. If I don’t believe what I have to share is of quality and of what I have promised to share, I will not hit send.

ᐝAbout alej ✨

I am alej peko (they/them), and I am a psychotherapist, a writer, an interdisciplinary creative, and an observer. I believe that all those who engage with me have a right to know my values and ethics. Taking the lead/a cue from Aleah Black in establishing my ethics list, I bring into my daily living the beliefs of:

Indigenous sovereignty and LandBack.

Reparations for Black Americans/descendants of chattel slavery.

Protection of immigrants in the United States, seeking asylum or not, and continued birthright to all those born on US soil.

ᓫ Bodily autonomy and freedom of self-expression, which includes comprehensive resources (e.g. 1, 2) for gender/sex-based concerns.

ᓫ An end to Genocide in Palestine, Sudan, Darfur, Myanmar, Xinjiang, and all other places impacted.

ᓫ Restorative Practices and non-disposability politics.

ᓫ Coalition building, class solidarity, mutual aid, and community care.

ᓫ Trauma informed, non-carceral schooling that returns autonomy and freedom to children.

ᓫ Abolition of the prison system and the police system.

ᓫ An end to the conditions of colonization, including but not limited to: racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, classism, antisemitism, islamaphobia, and xenophobia.

ᓫ Love and respect for our great planet and all things that exist within it.

I accept feedback and value participating in rupture and repair. I welcome invitation to shift my perspective when needed. I believe that new information means new ways of seeing [being].

My life’s work has been all over the place, just like my wandering mind, and it has given me a robust skill of the “both/and” approach. I’ve fronted bands, served in restaurants, worked in galleries, designed websites, marketed for a university, and sold books [the best]. I sometimes feel disappointed I don’t have a single area of expertise. On second thought, I am very glad to have had my hands in so many pots.

Looking forward to sharing space with you!
